Common Questions about Crowdsourcing
- How much does it cost to enter an opportunity?
Nothing! There is no cost for posting your submission to an opportunity. If you're picked you will receive the bounty money as a Paypal payment (minus an 8.5% service and Paypal fee). Nothing to lose and only money to gain!
- How much does it cost to start an opportunity?
There is no cost to start an opportunity, however you are stronly encouraged to post a bounty amount for your collaboration opportunity. This give an incentive for more people to enter their submissions. Visit our
collaboration opportunity page for average bounty amounts (varies depending on which instrument you're looking for.)
- How do I start?
Take a look at our
Get Started page and browse through the tutorials. We have several picture tutorials to help get you posting.
- Who owns the legal rights to postings?
The recording is owned by whoever posted the recording. Songwriters are then offered the opportunity to legally buy the rights to a recorded track from whomever posted it. By uploading an addition, you are offering the opportunity to sell the rights. Any track that is not purchased remains the legal property of whomever uploaded it.
- How long does my opportunity last?
Your opportunity will run for 90 days from when you finalize your submission, at which point it will not be possible for people to submit additions until you start a new opportunity.
- What audio file types should I be uploading?
You should be uploading your files as uncompressed, 16-bit .wav of .aiff files. You should be able to export either format from your DAW. Take a look at our tutorials for more information.
- What's my "reputation" and how is it calculated?
